Position Summary

Assists Florida licensed pharmacist in the performance of his/her professional services.


Essential Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the procurement of drugs and other pharmaceutical agents and related supplies for the organization.

  2. Ensure ongoing maintenance of proper stock levels in accordance with established policies, company standards, accrediting, and licensing requirements.

  3. Serves as a purchasing information system resource for the department.

  4. Serve other duties as assigned.

  5. Review pharmacy charges daily.

  6. Maintains a monthly pharmacy census and revenue report.

  7. Maintains a monthly Cardinal contract purchase history report.


Skills and Abilities
  1. Ability to give and carry out oral and written instructions.

  2. Get along with people of all backgrounds.

  3. Ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently.

  4. Be able to lift, carry, and use hands and fingers skillfully, safely and easily.

  5. Ability to supervise.


Physical Demands

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree and requires sitting for a minimal amount of time.


Environmental Conditions

Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.


Reasoning Development

Be able to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret and direct a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.


Mathematical Development

Be able to compute standard measures, discounts, weights, portions, ratios, prices, volumes as common in the process and delivery of pharmacy services.


Language Development

Reading: Read and understand instructions and be able to convey instructions and guidance to subordinates.

Writing: Write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar using all parts of speech.

Speaking: Speak with poise, authority, voice control, confidence and respect using correct English in a well-modulated voice.


Relationships to Data, People and Things

Data: Coordinating: Determining time, place and sequence of operations or actions to be taken based on analysis of data; executing determination of and/or reporting on events.

People: Supervising: Determining or interpreting work procedures for a group of workers, assigning specific duties to them, maintaining harmonious relations among them, and promoting efficiency. A variety of responsibilities are involved in this function.

Things: Handling: Using body members, hand tools, and/or special devices to work, move or carry objects or material. Involves little or no latitude for judgment regarding attainment of standards or in selecting appropriate tools, objects or material.


Qualification

To do this job, you must have the following amount of total education and/or experience:

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician License in the State of Florida.

  • 2 years of pharmacy buying experience or 2 years as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with increasing levels of responsibility/leadership within a pharmacy department.

  • 1 year of supervisor experience.

  • Must be able to use the computer system.
