Job Summary
The Driver transports passengers to and from designated areas. This role may also perform courier services as directed.
Essential Responsibilities
Transports passengers to and from designated areas as requested.
Performs courier services as directed.
Offers assistance to passengers entering and exiting the vehicle.
Maintains appropriate logs and records.
Maintains vehicle in operating condition and reports malfunctions immediately.
Maintains cleanliness of vehicle.
Operates vehicle in a manner that ensures safety for self and passengers.
Uses vehicle communication system to maintain contact with dispatcher.
May be cross-trained in other areas where applicable.
Participates in departmental CQI activities.
May be required to vary shifts and/or weekend rotation as the needs of the department dictate.
May include overtime.

Carry out specific instructions, following a simple routine.
Perform the same task repeatedly, frequently in the same way.
Get along with all kinds of people.
Use hands and fingers skillfully and easily.
Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish.
Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting force constantly to push and/or pull arm or leg controls while operating and climbing in and out of a vehicle or van. Requires sitting most of the time and requires walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Environmental Conditions
Work is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to hot and cold weather temperatures and all types of weather conditions.
Reasoning Development
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed oral instructions.
Mathematical Development
Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations.
Language Development
Reading: Read and understand instructions, safety rules, and related materials.
Writing: Write sentences using printing or cursive style.
Speaking: Speak with poise, voice control, and confidence, using correct English and a well-modulated voice.

Qualifications
License
Current Florida Operator’s Driver’s License.
Education and/or Experience
Less than high school education.
Knowledge of the Miami-Dade County area.
On-the-job or equivalent training.
