Department of Radiology
Position Summary
Responsible for transporting patients by wheel chair or stretcher to and from Imaging Services Department. Assist the front desk as needed. Other duties as assigned by Director and/or Lead tech.
Essential Responsibilities
Provides high quality patient care by maintaining the safety, comfort and dignity of the patient at all times.
Provides appropriate care to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
Demonstrate proper respect, attitude, courtesy, professionalism and communication skills towards patients, staff, co-workers, doctors, administration personnel.
Treats patients with care as to confidentiality and rights.
Transport patients to and from Imaging Services Department.
Must have knowledge of hospital policies and functions of the other departments.
Assists in maneuvering the portable radiology equipment.
Helps maintain the equipment and assists in cleaning the department, except for those duties pertaining directly to the Environmental Services personnel.
Participates in hospital’s QAPI, safety and infection control studies as assigned.
May be required to vary shifts and/or weekend rotation as the needs of the department dictate. Occasionally may require overtime.
Performs other assigned duties as required.

Must be acquainted with local fire and safety regulations.
Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish.
Physical Demands
Heavy work: Exerting over 100 pounds of force frequently. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree and requires sitting a minimal amount of time.
Environmental Conditions
Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Hazards:
Subject to exposure to electrical and radiant energy hazards.

General Math:
Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio, and proportion.

Reading: Read and understand instructions and be able to convey instructions and guidance to subordinates.
Writing: Write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar using all parts of speech.

Qualification
To do this job, you must have the following amount of total education and/or experience:
Education:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Must have a current CPR.
Experience and Training:
Minimum one year of experience in a hospital setting preferred.
