Advancing care through education, research, and community responsibility.

As a teaching hospital, Coral West Community Hospital is committed to learning, discovery, and the development of future healthcare professionals. Through graduate medical education and clinical research, we help advance patient care while remaining grounded in the needs of the community we serve. Education and research are not separate from care—they strengthen it.

Residency Program

Residency training is the foundation of our educational mission. Coral West Community Hospital’s residency program prepares physicians through hands-on clinical experience, meaningful patient relationships, and close faculty mentorship in a community-based hospital setting.

Residents are active members of the care team, supported by experienced physicians who are committed to teaching, professional growth, and compassionate, patient-centered practice.

Our residency program reflects our belief that strong education leads to stronger care—for today’s patients and the future of healthcare.

Family Medicine Residency

Our Family Medicine Residency is a three-year, ACGME-accredited program that provides comprehensive training across inpatient, outpatient, and community-based settings. Residents gain broad clinical experience while developing the skills needed to care for individuals and families across the lifespan.

Training emphasizes continuity of care, clinical judgment, communication, and service to diverse populations—preparing residents for thoughtful, independent practice.

Hospice & Palliative Care Fellowship

Our Hospice & Palliative Care Fellowship is a one-year, ACGME-accredited program focused on compassionate, interdisciplinary care for patients with serious illness. Fellows receive training across inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and at-home settings. The fellowship emphasizes dignity, communication, symptom management, and support for patients and families throughout serious illness and end-of-life care.

Clinical Research

Clinical research at Coral West Community Hospital supports the development of new treatments and care approaches for serious and complex health conditions. Research activities are conducted in alignment with our mission to improve patient outcomes and advance medical knowledge responsibly.

Our research efforts are guided by:

  • Ethical standards and patient safety

  • Scientific rigor and transparency

  • A commitment to meaningful, patient-centered outcomes

Participation in research helps expand options for patients while contributing to broader medical knowledge.

Clinical Trials

Through our research programs, eligible patients may have access to clinical trials exploring new therapies and approaches to care. Clinical trials are conducted in accordance with strict ethical guidelines and regulatory standards, with participant safety as the highest priority.

Patients are supported with clear information and careful oversight throughout the research process.
